Design game levels like a pro in this Autodesk Maya 2010 class
In this intense 3D video game creation experience, you’ll learn the level design and creation process from concept to a playable game. You’ll use Maya, the same software used to make many of the 3D images in Sony PlayStation 3, Nintendo GameCube, Microsoft Xbox and PC games. Following industry-style production processes, the class will enable you to create whole game levels and a professional-quality product. You’ll use the same tools and technology-including 3ds Max, Photoshop and Unreal Game Engine-used to make blockbuster games like Gears of War and Halo 3.
After planning the level and creating the basic form inside the level editor, you’ll learn about 3D modeling and texture mapping to load in your own buildings, environmental items and any other model you can think up. On the last day of class, you and other students will share your level maps, and spend a game day play-testing and critiquing your designs.
